For cleaning your dyson vacuum cleaner filter you should need to follow the steps which are mentioned below. This will help you in clearing the filter efficiently without causing any damage.
- Your filters should be removed from your Dyson machine.
- To remove any dust or dirt, tap the filters lightly in the sink or bin.
- Use cold water to wash your filter. Gently rub it with your fingers.
- Don’t use detergents.
- Warm tap water can be used to fill your filters. To remove dirt, cover the filter with your hands. Carry on this process so how all the water is gone. Then, shake the filter vigorously to get rid of any excess water.
- After washing the filters, dry them in an area that has plenty of airflow. You must dry your filters completely before you return it to the machine. Otherwise, it may cause damage to the vacuum motor. Before you reinstall the filter, make sure that it is dry.
- Do not dry your clothes in the microwave, tumble dryer or next to a naked flame.

How To Replace a Dyson Vacuum Filter
Sometimes you need to replace the filter because some filters can be cleaned or washed efficiently. So they stop working properly and do not give you proper results. To keep this thing in this section I will guide you on how you can change the vacuum filter for the different dyson vacuum machines.
Dyson Vacuum Cleaner
- Your Dyson should be turned off
- You can simply pull out the filter, which is located at the top end of the canister.
- Replace the filter with a clean or new one.
Dyson Upright Animal Vacuum Cleaner
- Turn off your Dyson vacuum cleaner, and unplug the Dyson from the switch.
- Take the canister out of the vacuum
- Take the handle marked “filter” off the canister and remove the filter.
- Snap the filter back in place by replacing it.
- The second vacuum filter you will find in the ball
- Rotate the wheel to unscrew the ball
- Rotate the vacuum filter attachment so that it releases
- Rotate the filter until it snaps in place.
Dyson Canister Vacuum
- Remove the cylinder from your Dyson vacuum cleaner
- Take the filter out from the cylinder
- Change the filter
- Attach the cylinder to your Dyson.
- The second filter will locate in the ball of your vacuum machine.
- Turn the ball lock clockwise to release it
- Keep the tabs open until the filter appears.
- Reattach the filter to the housing and replace it. It will snap back into place.
- Secure the ball by screwing it back on. Rotate the ball clockwise until it is secured.

There are many parts to your Dyson vacuum cleaner that you need to clean and maintain in order to keep it running at its best. Sometimes, you may need to replace the parts of the vacuum cleaner. Let’s discuss how to change the parts of your dyson.
- Turn off your machine and then disconnect it from the wall socket.
- Take out the Dyson Vacuum Part. To find out how to remove the Dyson Vacuum part, select your machine using the selector.
- Use cold water to wash the parts. Do not use detergent, wash in a dishwasher, or machine that uses washing machines. Then rinse the part under running water and then squeeze the water out gently. Continue this process until you are satisfied.
- The parts should be dried. You can dry them by storing them in a warm area for 24 hours until they are completely dry.
- Sometimes the part is not washable and must be replaced with a new one. You need to ensure that you keep water out of the parts and replace them as soon as possible.
